Couturier, Hajar Gala, designs with sophistication and elegance. Her collection is a reflection of the savoir-faire of Maison De Challie which has been creating timeless pieces since the house was established over 2 decades ago in Sydney’s Iconic Strand Arcade. 


The brand name nuances exceptional artistry and craftsmanship while each concept pursues mastery in cut and tailoring. Hajar executes her designs with the iridescent traits of silks, french lace and the delicacy of sheer organzas, with elegant volumes and special draping that highlight yet meld beautiful colours and textures like a painting, giving a sense of whimsical fantasy.


Hajar’s creativity is complimented by her training in the French Method of Haute Couture, enabling her to develop her own unique techniques where she could challenge the boundaries & explore the possibilities in her design work. The effect of a Gala design is always mesmerising.

Your details throughout your pieces give a sense of whimsical fantasy. Classic, yet your own unique modern touches in your detail work, design, fabric choices and techniques. Your use of color and patterns and then the beading and embroidery handwork are exciting and mesmerizing.     I recently had my wedding dress made by De Challie.
